ーCould you share an episode or experience that left a lasting impression through career coaching?
We have a client who came to Canada as an international student from Colombia. She brought a wealth of experience, accomplishments, academic credentials (bachelor’s degree, MBA, and 2 diplomas in Canada). However, when she graduated she was lost. She had a hard time landing a job in her field that did justice to her impressive profile.
Our coaching not only increased her confidence, but also equipped her to amplify her connections so she could network confidently. She upskilled, built new relationships, and landed a managerial role at Scotiabank during the pandemic.
She’s been our client ever since. We helped her get 2 promotions at the bank, and also coached her to land a new role at RBC with a $30,000 salary increase.

ーTell us about your background, including your educational and professional history.
I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, a Certificate in Strategic Relationship Marketing, and a Diploma in Career & Work Counselling.
I’m a multilingual educator based in Toronto with 10+ years of experience preparing international students and newcomers to transition smoothly into life in Canada and to land career opportunities that lead to well-being and prosperity.
I’m also a professor at George Brown College where I teach Career Transitions to students facing mental health and addiction challenges, and Digital Skills for Life & Work to students with mild learning disabilities.
My experience ranges from teaching and coaching to international student recruitment, and educational tourism. I’m an advocate for experiential learning and impactful educational experiences that equip my students to think critically about their life and career choices.
ーWhat prompted you to pursue studying abroad or relocating to Canada?
I wanted a change of life.
ーWhy did you choose the path of a career coach?
Because when I finished my degree I was more lost than when I finished high school. I felt invisible and useless, and I don’t want anyone to feel that way.
ーIn your perspective, what makes Canada appealing?
It’s diversity and welcoming spirit.
